Being a mom is hard.work. Worth it? 100000% yes! But…it is hard nonetheless!

The first time I photographed this beautiful girl, it was before her wedding. She was doing this as a gift for her soon-to-be husband, and maybe partially for herself, too.

Fast-forward through the wedding, a couple of years of marriage, and a sweet baby now in their lives, she decided it was time to reclaim who she is.

Whether you’re a mom or not, we all have “labels.” In her case, her label is “wife” and “mom.” There is nothing wrong with that, of course, but when we have these labels, we tend to live by them. She told me that she wears comfortable clothes on a daily basis (as in…loose shirts and loose pants), and doesn’t really find time to take care of herself anymore. Her attention is all towards her baby, as it should be! But…we HAVE to make time for ourselves. HAVE TO.

After I showed her her photos, she cried. She got emotional because she had forgotten who she is. She forgot to see herself for ALL of the wonderful, beautiful things she is. A caring wife, a loving mother, an amazing woman…among many other things.

I am just sooo proud of her for taking a step out of her comfort zone and doing this for HERSELF. Not for anyone else, this time. It was just.for.her.
