What made you book a boudoir session?
I booked my session primarily for a wedding gift to my fiancé. Although, I have selfishly wanted to have a boudoir session for myself for a long time… It felt like the right time for me, as I also just turned 40! My theme for the year is “forty and fabulous!” I will never be 40 again! I deserved to pamper myself and that’s what I did! My (now) husband just got to reap the benefits, also!
How did you feel coming into the studio?
Honestly, I was super pumped leading up to my session! Sure, I was a little nervous not knowing if I would look anything like the gorgeous women who came before me or not. But I didn’t want fear to hold me back. The photo gallery on Lovely in Lace’s website is incredible and I knew I had found the right photographer and company to work with just by starting there. From the first phone call with Holly, to the follow-up emails with Sivan, to the greeting by Rae when I entered the door, it put me at ease knowing everyone was there to make this experience one I’ll never forget.
How did you feel during your session (specifically once you saw your photos on the back of camera)?
Like a super model!!! The poses felt awkward at first because I wasn’t used to them. However, once I got to see a few of them, I knew that the talent of both Sivan and Ray was endless. I took a deep breath and relaxed. Then put my trust in them to create something magical through their lens. I’m so happy I did!
How did you feel after your session?
I felt unstoppable when I walked out the studio door!!! My head was a little higher, and the smile and positive vibes were radiating off of me. It felt amazing to not only know I would have something beautiful to show for the experience, I felt like I made new friends who are incredibly empowering and supportive.
How do you feel now after seeing your final images?
My first thought after seeing my final images was, “Holy?!?! That can’t be me!” I couldn’t stop staring at them! I am so happy I took the plunge and gave myself (and my husband) such a gorgeous gift. These images are not only a reminder of the experience and how I look right now at this point in life, they will continue to be a reminder that no matter where life takes me, no matter how many wrinkles, stretch marks, scars or age spots, I’m a strong, beautiful, independent woman. No one can ever take that away!
If you already have your product(s), what do you think of them?
I still can’t wrap my mind around everything! The album is GORGEOUS! And I don’t think my husband has caught his breath! His reaction alone was priceless to me..
Anything you'd like to say to other women who are hesitating to do this for XYZ reason?
DO IT!!! While the price tag was a bit hard to swallow, I will continue to say that every penny was worth it. Not only was the experience of the session fantastic and a blast, the images that captured such an incredible moment in my life will continue to be worth being able to look back on and remind myself of the woman I am and love. The empowerment these images have added to my arsenal of strength, positivity, and self love is indescribable! I deserved it and so does every woman out there! This is truly artwork.

If you’re nervous about getting in front of the camera, DON’T BE! If you are looking into doing a boudoir session with Lovely in Lace, DO IT! You’ve come to the right spot and you will not regret it.
