I. Love. Me. | Orlando Boudoir Photographer
What is your sole purpose behind having your boudoir photos taken?
Like any woman, I've always struggled with self-image. I've overcome so many obstacles and met so many goals over the years, but taking care of myself and taking time for me has never been something I'm good at. I really stopped taking care of myself when I was balancing getting a Master's Degree in Architecture and working full time to make ends meet. I graduated, got a great office job, bought a house, got married and had a beautiful baby boy last year. During all of these milestones I still wasn't taking care of myself mentally, physically and emotionally. No matter what I achieved over the years, I didn't have much of anything positive to say about myself or my body.
After seeing my son I realized I needed to look at myself in a different light... I had just grown a baby... that's pretty cool! However, a month after having my son, I continued to build my small business and worked my full time office job while I stayed at home watching him. I worked close to 18-20 hours a day (7 days a week) balancing my small business, my office job, caring for the baby and keeping up with the house/finances/every day life. My mental/emotional/physical health kept declining while I kept putting my needs in last place.
After crashing and burning a handful of times, I have been practicing taking better care of myself. Learning to love myself is by far the hardest thing I've ever done, but I'm on the right path and I'm excited for this to be something I look back on.
For me, this shoot will always remind me of how I started to celebrate me.
