What made you book a boudoir session?
When I originally decided to book this boudoir session, it was as a Christmas present for my husband because it was something different. However the closer I got to this session I started to freak out because I wasn’t comfortable with myself but then something just happened in the months before when I started getting more emails. Emails that were hyping me up and getting me ready for my session, and it just turned into something different. It stopped being a present for my husband, and instead a present for myself and I felt so awesome in that moment but I’m so happy that I did this.
How did you feel coming into the studio?
I was super excited to go to the studio, I woke up so early that day. And then the drive there just being so excited to get into the make up and fully into the session, I just couldn’t wait to do it.
How did you feel during your session (specifically once you saw your photos on the back of camera)?
So when I first started posing, it felt awkward because it was something different but once you kind of get into the groove of it, it just feels natural. When I saw the pictures on the back of the camera, it made me happy while I was posing. It made me look forward to the next picture and the next area and the next pose.
How did you feel after your session?
After my session I felt almost liberated. I grew up in such a different environment where I was told that I needed to look a certain way and it’s only been the last few years I’ve been comfortable enough with myself and after that session I just felt completely empowered. I kept my makeup on until I got home because it was so good and the whole ride back home was just me going over that session because I had so much fun with it.
How do you feel now after seeing your final images?
I could not believe that was me! I knew I looked a certain way but when I saw those images it was everything that I wanted to look like and it finally made me realize that I do look like that, and I am enough for myself!
Anything you'd like to say to other women who are hesitating to do this for XYZ reason?
Do it! Don’t hesitate. Do it far enough in advance where you can slowly pay it off because once that day comes you’re going to thank yourself for investing in yourself.
